Mixed Findings in Q3 2011 ASLA Business Quarterly Survey



7月に”米国のランドスケープアーキテクト職の成長”というブログを載せましたが、今回はちょっと残念なニュースをご紹介します。

10月24日付のASLAの発表によると、LAの求人数は前四半期と比較して減少傾向に転じたとのことです(グラフの出典はASLA)。

主な数値は以下の通りです

Significantly higher (more than 10%) – 12.6%
Slightly higher (5 to 10% higher) – 26.5%
About the same (plus or minus 5%) – 27.7%
Slightly lower (5 to 10% lower) – 16.6%
Significantly lower (more than 10%) – 16.6%

「広範にわたる不安と経済の不確実性が下方圧力となっているが、一方で多くの企業が新しい顧客を見つけ始めている」とのコメントが紹介されています。

業務の領域の調査データでは、ハウジング(66.2%)や公園(64.9%)に加え、雨水管理に取り組んでいる企業が43.1%もいると示されています。また、Historic preservation(24%)やSecurity design(8.3%)も目立っており日本の状況との差異がわかります。
