Gärten 2008 is being held for the third consecutive year. The award criteria include: idea, artistic and conceptual quality, use of plants and materials, relationship between inside and outside, delimitation of space and organisation of open space, technical and ecological planning. Special attention will also be given to the individual diversity of use and functionality. The open space must be clearly identifiable as intended for private residence and use.
